Cheekbone height
Higher values mean cheekbones that sit higher on the face. Tilting the chin down raises it.
How it's measured
Where the widest points of the cheekbones (zygion) sit between the pupils and the mouth: the height from the cheekbone level down to the lip line (stomion), divided by the height from the pupil line down to the lip line, as a percentage. All heights are measured straight down from the eye line.
Reference range
- Male reference
- 81–100%
- Female reference
- 81–100%
Source: Community facial analysis formula (public spreadsheet), top range: 81% or more. The formula sets no upper limit; we use 100%, which would put the cheekbones level with the pupils.
In the score
Counts toward the score with weight 25 (Community formula point table: cheekbone height, 25 points).
What changes it
- Head turn or tilt changes it. Keep the head level and face the camera.
One number, one feature
One measurement describes one detail in one photo. Pose, lens and expression move it, and every reference range is an average from limited samples.
