Brow height above the eye
brow set
Lower values mean brows that sit closer to the eyes. Brows are soft tissue, so raising them or grooming changes this value.
How it's measured
For each eye: the height from the top of the upper lid margin up to the brow (the average height of the brow head and the brow peak), measured straight up from the eye line, divided by the eye's width from inner to outer corner. Both sides are averaged and also listed separately.
Reference range
- Male reference
- 0.40–0.66
- Female reference
- 0.40–0.85
Source: Community facial analysis formula (public spreadsheet), top range: men below 0.66, women 0.40-0.85. The formula gives men no lower limit; we use the women's 0.40 so a brow resting on the lid does not count as in range.
In the score
Counts toward the score with weight 10 (Community formula point table: eyebrow setedness, 10 points).
What changes it
- Measured on the skin outline, so muscle and soft tissue affect it as well as bone.
- Head turn or tilt changes it. Keep the head level and face the camera.
One number, one feature
One measurement describes one detail in one photo. Pose, lens and expression move it, and every reference range is an average from limited samples.
